The Cuba Travel Scoop From a Seasoned Traveler : An Interview With Frederick Burney II

Here at insightCuba, we are committed to bringing you the very best when it comes exploring the beautiful island of Cuba. Each year we like to reflect on how we’ve done and the impact we’ve made on peoples lives. And our favorite way to do that is to chat with our past guests.

Meet InsightCuba Tour Leader Diane Saulnier

One of the best things about seeing the beautiful land of Cuba with insightCuba is having a knowledgeable, trained tour leader to accompany you through the island. You’ll experience breathtaking sights and connect with one of the warmest, most hospitable people on earth.

A Love Letter to Cuba

I first met Lady Cuba in 2015, and immediately fell deeply in love with her. Since I left her sweet embrace I have not been the same. What is it about you beautiful Seniorita that I can’t let go of? You have so many wonderful attributes. Your Cohiba and Romeo and Juliet cigars, your sweet Havana Club rum, and your unparalleled shade grown coffee, are the world’s best, and coveted across the globe. But your allures are so much more than these. Your music is rich and vibrant and oozes from every home, restaurant, and street corner.

Condé Nast Traveler Names InsightCuba Among the World's Best Travel Specialists

For a second consecutive year, Condé Nast Traveler has honored insightCuba with the Top Travel Specialist award. The publication’s December edition named Director of Cuba Operations, Alison Coelho, among its most trusted Travel Specialists singling out Coehlo’s ability to introduce visitors to “artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs—or even register you for the Havana Marathon.”

Experience the MaraCuba

My father has always been a marathon and triathlon enthusiast. As he continues to race, he has developed bucket-list places to visit. In August of 2014, he signed us up for Cuba’s annual Marabana marathon. This would be my first race.

It’s not yet legal for Americans to visit Cuba for tourism purposes, but we were able to participate in Marabana legally, under the sports category of permitted travel, through insightCuba. One of the cultural activities we enjoyed along with the entire country was MaraCuba.
